Pepperoni Bread

A great appetizer that men and kids love. Make two while you’re at it because it goes fast.

1 loaf frozen bread dough
1 egg
1 teaspoon snipped parsley
1 teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
1 8-10 inch stick of pepperoni
1 cup grated Mozzarella cheese
1 cup cooked or canned mushrooms, drained (optional)
sesame seeds

Thaw loaf of frozen bread according to package directions. Spread thawed bread dough into large rectangle on greased cookie sheet. (Cookie sheet should have rim on sides.)

Make an egg wash by mixing egg and seasonings. Spread half of egg wash on dough almost to edges. Layer slices of pepperoni, 3 or 4 to a row, down center third of bread. Sprinkle with cheese and optional mushrooms.

Fold bread dough over filling one-third over then last third over. Flip dough over so seam side is underneath. Spread loaf with remaining egg wash. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake until golden brown. Temp. 375 degrees. 25 minutes.
