The Story of Nicola DellaPietra
According to the records of the Comune Di Lanciano, Nicola was born born July 12, 1851, the son of Antonio DellaPietra and Maria Brigida Paolini. Nicola married Maria Morgione, the daughter of Emidio Morgione and Camilla Di Campli. She was born March 18, 1849 and lived until December 5, 1924.
Their oldest son, Antonio, was born March 31, 1877 and lived to be 71. Twin boys were born to this family. Giuseppe and Pietro died a week after their birth. A fourth son, Biagio was born in 1882 and died at age 52 in 1934. This small family was atypical of most Italian families with their many children. Nicola died on December 5, 1918. He died at age 67 and Maria at age 75.
